FCAAZ wouldn't be where we are today without our amazing volunteers! We truly appreciate each and every one of the incredible people taking time out of their day to make a difference. Our work wouldn't be possible without their continued support.
What inspired you to start volunteering for FCAAZ?

Learning about the death industry over the years has been interesting, and it's sparked a curious part of my brain that wants to make a real impact on my community. I love the ethos behind FCAAZ and how they want to create a consistent resource for folks who deserve transparency in their time of grief. As we continue to embrace more green burial practices in the US, I'm excited to continue sharing its value through conversations with those within the death industry and those looking for different disposition options.
What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
I've been an organizer for the Phx Zine Fest for over 3 years! Zines can bring communities together and have allowed me to express myself in unfiltered ways. I'm pretty passionate about their ability to give voices to otherwise marginalized folks. Talk to me about zines!!
What would you say to someone who’s thinking about volunteering with FCAAZ?
The impact FCAAZ makes is a collective effort, so your commitment can be as involved as you want it to be. Be honest about your capacity and know that anything you offer is valuable, wanted, and respected.
What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of volunteering?
There are so many things! My current projects include: Learning natural dyeing for my pup's burial shroud, reading for an Indigenous-centered book club, and drafting my next zine idea.
