What's New?
As of 3/1/2025, the United States Postal Service requires all cremated remains to be shipped using Priority Mail Express in a USPS-provided packaging kit. This new policy applies to human and animal cremains and includes remains shipped as jewelry, blown glass, or other works of art. The required kit won’t cost you anything - it’s free of charge and can be requested at USPS.com.

Why?
USPS requires cremains to be shipped in their clearly labeled packaging kit to ensure the safe and secure handling of the cremated remains. The bright orange “CREMATED REMAINS” label on each box makes it easier for postal workers to identify and prioritize cremated remains packages, minimizing the risk of damage or mishandling.
Is This My Only Option?
Yes. The only mail carrier you’re allowed to send cremains with is the United States Postal Service. You can’t legally send cremated remains in the mail through any other mail carrier. This includes both human and animal cremains.
